What Is Pyrography?

Pyrography is the art of wood burning — the process of creating detailed imagery using controlled heat directly on natural wood. Unlike laser engraving or digital transfers, true pyrography is done entirely by hand.

Every piece created by Mohawk Wyatt is hand-drawn and hand-burned onto solid basswood using a precision wood burning tool. No tracing. No machines. No shortcuts.

The depth, shading, and contrast are built slowly through layered heat application — often requiring 25+ hours to complete a single 12x18 artwork. Because the design is burned directly into the wood grain, no two pieces can ever be replicated.

This is one-of-one, hand-burned wood art — not laser production.
